Canigao Island

Not a place for foreigners, the toilet facilities are very basic, at best,the room we hired had an ants nest in the bathroom, it was supposed to be good for 8 but only had 4 single bunk beds,the power was turned off at midnight, so the fan wasn't able to work after then,so it was too uncomfortable to sleep. The only food available was local fare,dried fish etc ,the only plus was you could buy bottled beer, and water.

Actually, I wanted to put 5 stars but I must say the LGU under of Canigao Island can do more to make the Island zero waste of plastics, trash and educate tourists, locals, guests how they can keep this beautiful Island clean and preserve. All of us have a responsibility. I tried to take a swim at night but the rocks are hard to step on so need to wear water shoes. There's a lot of jellyfish also so I got scared swimming but I love how peaceful at night and great to do camping here. Bathroom and water facilities needs improvement. I was here with my cousin and her daughter. You can buy fish and sea shells here you can ask them also to cook for you. It's good to bring your own food. It's kinda expensive to buy the prices are too high. You can rent or bring your own tent. Everything here is rented even the space where you want to put your tent. Fact check: the LGU OF MATALOM LEYTE just done a clean up drive of the Island. Thank you to the LGU!! Good job po!!

A very serene and beautiful small island. You can roam around the whole island for around 30 minutes. The price is worth more than what you pay for. You just have to pay for a minimum entrance fee of LESS THAN 100Php and and the boat fee of around the same amount. The boat will take you there and fetch you around 4pm. You can even spend the night here; either by renting a cottage or a tent. There are fresh sea foods you can buy from here as well. Everything you need for a beach outing is almost here. What you bring there, you have to take back, especially the trash.

The island itself is beautiful. My family and I were enjoying our time at the island. I do have some suggestions that they need to upgrade/fix their toilet door, they are falling apart . people are leaving their empty liquor bottles, they should implement their sign "PACK IN/PACK OUT". Before we leave from the mainland port the lady that was in-charged was giving us a briefing of what to do while we are at the island and we were told that we need to be back at the boat by 2pm for pick up, I don't get it why we need to be pick up that early while their sign was the check out is 5pm? we arrived at the island around 9:30ish and needed to be at the boat by 2pm for pick and send back to the port?

Purely white sand with crystal clear water. Over night stay is highy recommended. You can bring your own tent without fees and also you can camp anywhere if you dont like to rent a cottage. Try Canigao Island for affordable and relaxing getaway. Hopefully ma maintain and mapreserve ang natural beauty ani na island for the next ff years.
